The word is out. Daft Punk are getting ready to release their fourth album this spring!
Le Parisien, the second largest French newspaper, has leaked word that the legendary Daft Punk will be releasing their new album under Sony at some point in the spring. This is Daft Punk’s first album with Sony after releasing their previous three with EMI. The switch to Sony brings with it an opportunity for huge worldwide distribution as well as the significant marketing and promotional platform that comes with one of the world’s biggest labels.
According to Le Parisien, Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo talked to friends about the upcoming release and move to Sony’s Columbia label at an album launch party last week. Details of the deal are being finalized in the US.
Now that we can put the Daft Punk return rumors to rest let the rumors of their return appearances begin. Could they make a surprise appearance at Coachella this year? Or will they be the biggest name to come out on Ultra’s Phase 3 lineup? Stay tuned for more updates!
