Markus Schulz 2013 North American Scream Tour

Schulz Bus Tour

UPDATE April 29, 2013:

For everyone asking about some behind the scenes stories & inside info from the bus tour, Markus and The M Machine sat down for a UStream interview session last week. You can check out the full video here. In the clip the guys talk about how the concept of the bus tour came about as well as discussions about the production setup in the clubs and some of their favorite tunes.

Original Post:

Markus Schulz is taking a bus and hitting the road across America. The 4+ week journey starts on April 10th in Boston and travels across the continent! This is going to be a tour that you don’t want to miss.

Being crowned DJ Times’ America’s Best DJ 2012-13 comes with a lot of responsibilities and one of them is touring the party capitals of America. This will be Markus’ longest run of back to back US dates so you know it’s going to be a special tour.

Here are some of Markus’ thoughts on how the bus tour concept came about: “This was born out of desire to get as hands-on with every aspect of a tour as its possible to get. This is Markus doing it Markus’ way! The sound, the light, the production, the DJs… and, yes, the Bus – it’s all on me! I’m going to be working overtime, spending every waking moment, day & night making sure this is the most incredible time you have inside a club in 2013. That aside there’s also going to be the opportunity to see more and experience more of this country, both the places and the people. I spend so much time every year, up in the clouds, flying around the States. In terms of this tour, this is my opportunity to do America in a different way than any other DJ.”

Tagging along for support duties are the trio out of San Francisco, The M Machine; and one of the hottest rising stars on the scene, non other than Coldharbour’s own KhoMha! For event tickets check out

Coldharbour Night LA: Sit Down with Mr. Pit

Mr. Pit

I had a chance to catch up with Adrian Ivan, aka Mr. Pit, before his set at the Exchange in Los Angeles on 12/14. First off I want to thank Mr. Pit, Stark Profiles, and everyone at SMG for giving me the opportunity to have a conversation with one of the fastest rising producers on the scene at the moment.

Mr. Pit started producing in 1996 and by 2003 had a studio set up in native Romania. Some of his early inspirations included Ferry Corsten and Tiesto. Adrian’s career started catching fire in 2007 when Markus Schulz heard Isolarium and played it throughout the festival season, making Mr. Pit a household name. This release was followed by More Manners Please, Shana, and Superstition. His tracks began getting strong support from Markus Schulz on the Global DJ Broadcast as well as fellow trance heavyweights like Armin van Buuren.

Today, Mr. Pit is one of the staples of Markus Schulz’ label Coldharbour Recordings. The unique sound of Coldharbour is one of the hottest phenomena on the electronic dance music scene right now and Mr. Pit is at the forefront of this movement. 2012 was a huge year for the sound of Coldharbour and Adrian was right in the middle of it all. River of Hearts and Pole Position were featured on Schulz’s LA’12 compilation and were also out on single EP releases along with It Is What It Is and Mosni.

Of course, being a blog based out of Los Angeles, I asked Adrian about his thoughts on the City of Angels. The LA’12 release party at Avalon last February was his first performance in the United States and the city will always be a special place for him. Since the LA’12 release party, Mr. Pit has performed at Circus in Hollywood and this past weekend he finished off the epic Coldharbour Night LA at the Exchange. It was truly an unforgettable night and everyone is already looking forward to his next stop here.

After our sit down, Exchange was the place to be. The Coldharbour crew took over the venue for sets from Grube & Hovsepian, KhoMha, and Mr. Pit himself. True to his usual style, Adrian was in constant communication with the LA crowd, feeding off the vibes and building a set that was truly mesmerizing. It was a very special night for the fans and I’m sure the artists felt the same way as well.

Looking ahead to 2013, the Coldharbour sound is continuing to become a preeminent presence on the scene and Mr. Pit along with the rest of the Coldharbour artists are the driving force behind it. With his humble attitude and hardworking character expect big things from Mr. Pit!
